I usually chose a name a like. There have been a few dogs I've named based on their looks or personality. When I was little I had a sassy little dog named Prissy, and a solid black dog named Blackie. The dog I own now and have had for 10 years is Bettyboop. We call her Betty. I had an obvious Bettyboop obsession at the time.

My little dog was given to me on Valentine's day. She was a precious, little 6 week old chihuahua. Brown and white with great big brown eyes. Such a pretty little thing, and she still is. I named her Valentine. And the name really fits her.

It was easy for me. I adopted Alexis and he had on a tag with the name Whisky! I hated the name but I wanted something close to name so he would easily get accustomed to it. Alexis may sound a bit off but I didn't think so and I love actual names for my pets. Not that I hate pooch and frisky etc..

I think I am great at naming pets in general. My dog is named Champ and my cat is named Prince Carter lol. I look at my animals as heir to my throne lol. I definitely name them so that they stand out. I usually love when we are waiting at the Vet and they yell out Prince Carter when it is his turn to see the vet. Everyone looks at him smiling with his gold collar.

I find it quite easy to name my dog. I tend not to think too much and just name it whatever comes to mind first when I see him. It is not just for my dog, but also for other people dogs. I have the tendency to just assign a name to dogs based on their characteristics and whatever comes to mind. For example, when I see a fuzzy dog, I will simply name it fuzzy haha.

It was hard coming up with a name for my current dog. I tried to think up something cutesy so other people would be amazed at my wittiness. I couldn't think of a thing. So, until my brain could be imaginative and astounding, I referred to my pet as doggie. Time passed and my brain was still bereft of a name. So, I left it at Doggie.

Named my dogs Chanel and Coco because they're stylish like that 😀
