I prefer big dogs, just because I love playfighting.

But obviously growing up I had small dogs, but as I got older the dogs got bigger! Will have to get a smaller one eventually when I start a family.

But for the moment, big dogs it is!

Well, playfighting with big dogs is surely challenging and entertaining, at the same time we can do the same with a medium sized dog with the same level of entertainment no? Yeah, they occupy a lot of space! 😉

Although I do think smaller dogs are cute and I very much like my parents shit-zu, I prefer bigger dogs. My brother has a greyhound and I have a boxer. I have tried to convince my husband to get an Irish Wolfhound but so far it hasn't worked. He compromised and said if I like big dogs we can get a boxer. I'm not disappointed, I adore our Luna and she's great with our 4 year old son. They love each other to bits.

Even when we have a smaller dog, I tend to prefer the larger breeds more. Small dogs tend to have this 'complex' where they get triggered to bark more at everything that moves since they're much more smaller compared to others. It's a personal preference though - I do love all the dogs! I'm not trying to generalize either, it's just how I've seen it to be.

So, to sum this up: I don't like dogs that bark at everything, no matter what breed and what size they are. Dog equality!

I don't think I have a preference in size, it all depends on the temperament of the dog. Although I'm not sure I'd like a big dog with a very loud bark and also not something so big you had to hide everything that was breakable!

We have four smaller dogs and one big dog actually. It was supposed to be two bigger dogs but the other one died recently. I really don't have a preference, I like both sizes. The smaller dogs are great for indoors. We let them play inside the house and this is where they also sleep. They do bark more though, like you said, and they can be pretty playful. But they are mostly affectionate except for one.

The bigger dogs are great for guarding the house. They bark only when there are strangers approaching the house. They are very affectionate too, they always welcome us when we get home. Since we have low maintenance dogs, they don't shed as much and don't require much grooming.

I like medium sized dogs. Dogs who are too small would end up hiding in strange places. they can't really run fast so it's harder to play with them. They may be easily nipped or bullied by other dogs on walks and seem generally much more fragile. Big dogs aren't cuddly to me, and it's just a personal preference for smaller sized dogs.

I love all dogs but I prefer to keep small breeds. They are easy to manage and are more playful.

I prefer small dogs by far but I think of big dogs to be more companion like. If it's for a play mate then I would go with a smaller one rather than a big one.

Well, I highly agree with you, medium sized dogs are actually the most beautiful ones and whatnot, I would really like to have a German Shepherd just as you mentioned, I've read they're one of the most loyal and most friendly dogs that could ever exist in this world, I can not really imagine one of those taking care of my little puddle, it would be something absolutely amazing to see them taking care of each other, I would definitely train him for that, indeed.

I really never thought about the looks of a dog. Any animal actually but we are talking about dogs and I love them anyway. Since I was a kid I had some kind of a miniature schnauzer mix. That was a rather small dog, all fluffy and funny looking. After that I had a hound that was poisoned and he was medium sized. He was a gift. I never bought a dog because I do not want to give money for a living creature. It is not normal if you ask me. Right now I have two dogs. One is Joe, a golden retriever that my sister got as a gift but somehow I ended up as his owner and I have Dolly who I got from a shelter. She is a mix breed of English setter and God-knows-what. Joe is medium sized to big and Dolly is a medium to small size dog. It is really irrelevant for me. I just love their presence and companionship. I believe we are already too superficial and hollow or shallow .... Anyway, the looks are not important. No leg or ear or whatever, I would have any dog.

I think this is a matter of fashion. 15 or 16 years ago, when bigger dogs were trendy, everyone wanted a baby Retriever or a baby Husky, even an Alsatian dog. After 2000's, when Paris Hilton started 'wearing' chihuahuas as accessories, everybody become obsessed with those tiny things. To be clear, I do not hate small dogs, I love them all, but the truth is most of us prefer different breeds because of their current popularity. That's not fair because all of them deserve to be popular and loved evenly. Our furry pals.

I am not a fan of little dogs. In my experience, they are much harder to train, and seem to be somewhat less loyal. To me they are kind of like yappy cats. Some of them can be pretty cute, but they don't hold a candle to bigger breeds. I just adore big dogs. They are so eager to please, and have the best temperments/personalities.

For me I love dogs no matter what is her/him size or shape. Dogs is one of my bestfriend and giving me joy every time I see them. For me , I prefer big dogs than small dogs for securing my house. Big dogs can easily scare the intruder of my lawn. Big dogs can do long run and can caught a intruder faster than a small dogs. Big dogs can easily learn what you have teach to them.

I prefer bigger dogs, not Wolfhound sized but like German Shepherd, for practical reasons. If a dog decides to sneak into my bed while I sleep, I'm less concerned with rolling over and accidentally killing my pet. They don't seem to bark or run around the house as much. But having lived in an apartment for a couple years, I can understand having a smaller dog. And I knew truckers who had small dogs that would travel with them across the country. While my grandpa lived on a huge farm and had a bigger dog because it was less likely to get eaten by raccoons, coyotes, and cougars. So there is that. I prefer bigger dogs usually, though I appreciate the cuteness of small dogs. What about you?

You are absolutely right in saying that small dogs are cute because they sure are 100% the most lovely and cute kind of dogs. I believe that is the reason why so many female celebrities who are dog lovers prefer smaller dogs to bigger ones. It's only few of the guys that have interest in getting bigger size dogs.

Personally, I would prefer my dog to be huge. I fancy dogs that looks intimidating at a mere look at it. Bulldogs for example, their facial expression alone would scare someone to death and not to talk about their barking sound.
