We have a cat back then and actually, she's been here before my dog is introduced into our household. At first, my dog is very wary of her and barks at her a lot. but in just a few weeks knowing that our cat is not a threat, my dog stopped barking and is already trying to play with her and follows the cat everywhere. But if she spots an unfamiliar stray cat around our vicinity, she goes crazy and barks at it like there is no tomorrow haha. So yeah, I guess dog if become accustomed to a companion cat I think they will like them eventually.
It took time for my dogs to like my cat. My dad said that you should always introduce them first, even with new dogs he always does it. I think they understand that the cat is part of the family if you hold them and try talking to them. In time they will accept it and become friends with cats.
Actually this is a pretty funny story. My dog is scared of cats. He's a cute beagle, his name is Max. Where does all that fear come from? Well, he wasn't older than a few months when me and my family had to go on a trip. We left him with our neighbour and mom's childhood bestfriend for a week. She has a very grumpy and possesive cat, named Lucy, and when we came back we found out that she has been terorizing our little puppy all week long. Since then, Max is afraid of any cat he sees.
My dog always welcome the cats in the home with full of joy, when my friends come with pet cats, my dog becomes so excited but the cats are mostly afraid of my cute dog,:p
Our dog is not quitely fond of cats and even other animal such as chickens, mouse and cockcroaches. Whenever he see's one, he will immidiately chased it away and when it comes to cockcroaches, he will flattened it with his body. But our dog is quite friendly with birds, he will just let the birds eat his leftover foodand he will not do anything to them.
Back home in the province, We have 2 dogs and plenty of stray cats. So I can say that they don't like cats. Everytime a cat is near our house, they will run after them and chase them and bully them like there's no tomorrow. I don't know why but I guess it's their smell, or maybe they are just being territorial. I feel sorry for these cats since every day they go there to have some meal but my guard dogs are on the watch. I am hoping someday they can work it out.
As of now, I don't ever try bringing a cat to them since I don't have any cat and I don't have a plan to pet a cat. I don't like cats for some reason but I guess my dogs would like cats if necessary.
My dog likes cat but the cat don't like her. I have also a cat named Hana. Hana dislikes my dog so much. Maybe because she is jealous to my dog who comes second from her. But they are very cute together.
My dog loves my cat but my cat I don't think he loves my dog. My dog really loves to play with my cat even though my cat always try to run away from him. This thing doesn't happen all the time though, just sometimes, because most of the time you can see them playing and sometimes sleeping beside each other. It is a great view for cat and dog owner like me,
Prince is very aggressive towards cats, The moment he spots cats he begins to bark (in case he is chained) or runs after the cat (if he loses) Prince is Tibetan Apso that is known for being very aggressive. I have seen many dogs that go friendly with cats. In fact, our previous dog was friendly towards the cat.

My dog, assuming he is alone and not in a pack, can get along with a cat, but when the cat is a bully, as is the case lately, it's war! Well, it's not really war because the dog simply avoids the cat. Anyhow, even when the dog isn't scared by any certain cat, he sometimes picks on them. In fact, he probably picked on the bully cat first.
Oh, I forgot to mention my dog is very old, hence probably why he is easily pushed around.
This is a strange one for us. He guards our finches from the cats and herds them all into the kitchen for us at night lol. When Lady Pawpatter Pinknose (my eldest female cat) is on heat, she rolls about in front of him. Pardon the pun but she's definitely barking up the wrong tree there.
My dog is always very aggressive when it comes to cats. He doesn't like them at all. He almost got into a fight with our neighbours cat the other day and it would have been fatal for either one of them.
I have three dogs and my mother have 2 cats. They have all lived together for years and they are pretty much used to one another. As for outsiders (cats) my dogs aren't nice at towards them. If you let them lose, they might attack the cats.
My dogs are comfortable around cats because they were both small when I got them. They practically grew up together and it's why they feel so relaxed with cats.
