Do most of your neighbors have dogs? If so, do you find that when one dog in the neighborhood starts to bark that it causes a chain reaction where most of the other dogs start barking too? The first dog that barks may be barking at something specific, but the others bark as though they are just mimicking the others and not for any particular reason. The barking seems to be contagious or maybe they are just barking at each other in their own dog language.
All of my neighbors have dogs. I just recently moved to my apartment 5 months ago and right off back I knew there was a lot of dogs in the community. For one, we have a community dog park :). Also, all of the dog cleaning bins around the complex warned me. My dog is big so a lot of the times the smaller dogs aggravate him for some odd reason. He doesn't usually start barking when he hear other dogs bark. He awkwardly looks at them like "Be Quiet Please" lol.
There are a ton of dogs in my neighborhood, but luckily the houses are far enough apart that the dogs usually can't hear each other. My dog loves to bark at other dogs from inside the house where they can't actually hear him. But when he outside, he is friendly as can be. Which is honestly great because we don't have to deal with an aggressive dog situations.
In our current home and neighborhood there is not, and it has been a topic of debate between family members and caused a little frustration. It is a small frustration, but it was just that our old neighborhood was the opposite, with a lot of dogs. It was just good for our dogs when we take them on walks to see other dogs out there. Maybe we are just timing things wrong, but I really do not see that many. I think that it will be considered a little bit if we happen to move again.
There aren't a lot of dogs in my neighbour at the moment. The ones that I mostly see are the Chinese exotic breeds. They are visible when the owners take them out for walks. There a few pit bulls around the neighbourhood too but for the most part, there is a scarcity of the canine presence.
No, my neighborhood doesn't have a lot of dogs because of how high the pet rent is. I live on a road with just apartments and condominium turned apartment. So, in the small section of apartments, there are about forty apartments and about six dogs that get walked regularly. Mostly, there are cat owners because the rent for smaller animals is way cheaper. If you go down the road where the houses are, it seems that everyone has a dog because of how many are being walked. But in my apartment complex, there are only a couple people who are willing to pay the rent to have a dog.
Oh yes. Most of the households in my neighborhood have dogs. And the leaders in the bark fest are a pair of tiny chihuahuas across the street. Once they start, every backyard dog begins to bark. Ugh.
No, most of my neighbourhood does not have dogs. This has something to do with our culture and living conditions. Here, we live in HDB so it is not easy to take care of dogs without boring the neighbours. We are just a wall away from each other so any disturbance will transmit easily.

An approximate ratio,in my neighborhood, is four dog owners out of every five houses. I also notice the chain reaction of the barking. It seems like the whole neighborhood is barking at times. Sometimes the dogs bark at their neighbors when they come outside. We are always worried the one house without dogs will be offended by our dogs frequent barking.
Our village is the favorite of thieves so logically there are so many dogs particularly in our street. When the dog of the neighbor barks, our youngest dog Barbie would be on the lookout and would eventually join the barking. Fortunately, Barbie seldom does that at night when we are in the bedroom, at least she behaves.
What makes it worse are the stray dogs that are loose right on our street. The adjoining block is like a slum area which is crowded and the residents have so many dogs that are loose. At night, those loose dogs linger in front of our house so the neighbor's dogs would bark incessantly. There are times that my husband would go out and hit those stray dogs with the water hose. Surely those dogs would run home.
Yup. Dogs, cats, rats, cockroaches. My neighborhood is infested. The stray dogs are better than the cats though because they're so used to people that they no longer bark or attack anyone. I feel bad for the pets sometimes because they aren't taken care of in the streets that's why the dog catcher is well-respected in our community.
I have just moved to the new neighborhood, and so far I think five out of 10 families have a dog. I also see cats running in and coming out from other houses. Most dogs are in small size though, around 30-40 pounds. I believe my dog is a biggest dog so far, as he weights in at 57 lbs.
There are lots of dogs in my neighborhood as it has been reported that we Brits love man's best friend. There's no dull moment on my street as regards to dogs, you may be prompted to tell them to just to keep the noise down now and then if you need a moment's peace. All in all they are great company especially for all those who live on their own.
Last year at this time there were quit a lot of people with dogs, but since then their numbers have reduced, due to people moving away and the people that moved in not owning dogs. Even at the peak I didn't find that the dogs would bark all at the same time that often.
Yes! there are plenty dogs on the neighborhood and actually soemthing really curious happened the other day. I was in school when there was a small earthquake on my city and when I came back home my mom and sister told me that about 20 minutes before it happened all the dogs of the neighborhood (including my dogs) where barking like crazy for a really long time.
So... I guess it's kind of their own language? Who knows, but it's still really interesting :).
