I would be more careful around this guy. Animals like dogs have a natural 6th sense and are somewhat able to tell good people from bad people. of course, there are other factors such as scent or looks but I would still be a little more cautious!
As with any new person I meet, I'll be more careful around him at first. Have a better knowledge of who you're dating before going all in, and at least your dog has helped you be more cautious. Still, it's better to investigate/know the other person first rather than relying everything on a dog's demeanor. Maybe your dog will eventually warm up to him; maybe it is you yourself who felt that your dog was kinda aloof because you yourself have doubts about the guy
It is not a weird situation you got there. Maybe you are right that your dog is jealous about that guy. But a dog can only be jealous if your dog always see that you and that guy are always together like you forget to notice your dog. But more definitely your dog become aggressive just because that guy is new in the eyes of your dog. A somewhat stranger.
I have a sweet little yorkipoo who gets along with everyone, really. When I have visitors come to my home he's usually very friendly and most people love him right away. Recently, a guy I've seen a few times came over and met my dog for the first time. I was being somewhat affectionate to this new guy, so I don't know if that had something to do with it, but my dog wasn't as friendly as he usually is. I was wondering - do you think my dog was jealous? Or giving my new guy some space? Or do you think he could sense something about this guy that I couldn't see? Can my dog pick a boyfriend better than I can?
Trust your dog intuition. If your dog is usually friendly and then suddenly became like that? The dog might seeing something on that guy that cannot be trusted. I had a girl friend whom one of his requirement for choosing a boyfriend is the guy should go along with his dogs.
Dogs have a way of feeling and knowing who's very comfortable with being around them and not afraid of them. Dogs can sense fear in human beings. It's probably why your dog was very affectionate towards the guy because he's cool.
This sounds hilarious and I really don't think my dog would select who I want to hang out with or date though.
Well, I wouldn't entrust my dog to pick my relationship partner because I'm very sure that he's not going to choose anyone for me. He's too clingy with me and he's very jealous.
I'm not sure how possible it's going to be for a pet to decide one's love partner. Unless the pet have some sort of spiritual powers which is something that I have never seen. Unless I want to date someone my pet is comfortable being around with, then I can choose based on that.
In my experience animals are very good at telling bad people from good. I'm not saying you should write this guy off immediately but if it was me I would be on my toes.
It is not my dog that is going to date the person I will be entering into a relationship with which is why I am not going to leave my dog to be the one that is going to choose whom I am going to spend my time and probably my life with.
I wouldn't allow my dog to be the one that is going to choose my next girlfriend because it is not my dog that is going to date my girlfriend but myself. So, anyone whom I'm going to be chosen as my girlfriend will definitely be my sole decision to make.
My dog can't pick my next lover. Even though I would love to have a partner who's a dog lover because that's going to make the relationship a lovely one. I'm happy that my partner even love my dog more than I do.
I won't allow my dog to choose my boyfriend for me. It's funny but I can't imagine myself allowing my dog pick a boyfriend for me. Is it that I am not capable enough to know who to date or I can't make a good decision about the guy? The only thing I can always want is for my partner to be a dog lover.
