Not me, my dog. He's a white jack-staffie and pulls a lot on his lead. When he gets back from a walk he has red rings around his eyes, well, more pinkish. Is this normal?

Try him with a harness. It's less pressure around the throat and also discourages pulling. Seems to be your perfect solution.
