With the lockdown hanging over our heads we haven't been able to get Dexter the Magic Dog to the groomers. Every time we try and cut his hair going over his eyes he goes nuts; wakes up if he's asleep too. Any tricks for this?
I saw a gif once where I woman had put cling film over her head and smeared peanut butter on it. The dog was licking her head while she was cutting its toenails. Maybe use peanut butter in some form to distract him.
Distraction is key. The idea that the above user suggested seems to be perfect. It wouldn't work for you on the head though, maybe around one hand that you can keep low while the other gives him a hair cut.
I just bite the bullet and take him in when he needs it. He's a long-haired Jack and would never sit for me to do it. Very energetic dog lol.
