Sometimes we can't help it. They're difficult to see. However, it's so sad and terrible when one gets stepped on, especially, if it's the head. Also, there might be situations, even with big dogs, where someone could accidentally slam the door on them etc.. Anyway, the cure for this can simply be more awareness.

It's why I find it very difficult keeping dog's species that are very small. I can be very clumsy and that's going to be very dangerous for the dog. I like my dog big in a way that you can't ever miss seeing him.
