I've been struggling with doing this all the time with my dogs. Putting on your dog's harness can be tricky and frustrating. Choosing the right size, adjusting the straps, and making it comfy for your furry friend can be a real headache.

I think I did this once though it was quite intimidating but I succeeded. I was having difficulty while putting on the head and adjusting the straps but it was so easy when doing the buckles. Though I'm not an expert but I have learnt to do it.
You should try and use reward gain in training your dog to be more open when putting on their harness. When they are looking to enjoying a treat, it's likely going to make them to be more obedient.
I keep it simple. Lay the harness out first so you know which way it goes, then get your dog to step into it (or slip it over their head, depending on the type). Buckle it up, make sure it’s snug but not tight, you should be able to fit two fingers under it.
