There are some dogs which are breed for the purpose of being used as security guard dogs. Companies make use of such dogs and even the force like police and the rest make use of such dogs.

I know some private individuals train their dogs to be used as guards but it is not everybody that likes to leave there dog outside to keep watch at night.

Do you keep your dog on night watch?

I don't put my dog under such risk. I don't think it is wise because an attacker can use gun or a dangerous object to kill your dog when they attack. So, I am never comfortable using my dogs to do any form of security.

I have a neighbour that their dog keep watch in their compound. The man built a giant iron house for the dog near the house. You can't come inside the compound without the dog first notifying the owner that someone's at the gate. I think the dog is specifically trained to watch the house than to be inside the house.

My dogs doesn't have any problems with keeping watch at night but I don't have the heart to leave them outside. I will only leave them out for a while and let them come inside. They are not security dogs.

I don't have a dog anymore but I have a dog at our compound that can't allow anybody sleep especially at the early morning. He doesn't like seeing a strange face there. He was trained to be a security dog.

I'm not keeping a security dog. It's not my dogs duty to keep watch at night. What if someone comes and shoot my dog dead? I would never forgive myself for putting them out at night as guards.

My dog is a Rot. He's a definitely a guard dog but I don't let him stay outside at night. He needs to sleep inside the house like I do myself too.

Never! I will never subject any of my dogs to keeping guard outside at night for any reason whatsoever. They are my babies, they deserve to sleep in the warmth of the house.

My dog isn't a security guard and I didn't get her for that. She can only stay outside if I am there too but once I am locking the door, I take my dog with me. She only watch from the glasses to know who's entering and can start barking to alert me.
