In the place where I live, there are few stray dogs. Sometimes when I have extra food, I feed them but my parents got angry at me because they say that those dogs will keep on coming back to our house and will depend to us. Of course I got upset with their reaction so I am secretly feeding them outside our house.
No we don't feed stray dogs. The problem with giving food to these dogs is that they poop and pee afterwards in our fences. Actually, they are not strayed ones, but from irresponsible owners who left them outside to wander around the neighborhood and look for food. Pure neglect, cruelty and abandonment. The best thing that I can do for these dogs is to notify animal welfare group about their presence in our area. It will be this group that will feed them and provide them shelter.
In my neighborhood, we really do not recommend feeding stray dogs since stray dogs in my place are usually aggressive possibly due to fear or trauma they experienced from their past owners. In any cases, when we really want to feed the strays, we just put the food outside our gates to avoid risk of dog bites. Aside from that, we also tend to call dog lovers in our neighborhood for any advises on how should we take care of it or if someone is willing to take the dog in.
Yes I do feed stray dogs, actually my friend has a dog rescue center. He rescue stray dogs everyday and treat them well and eventually he find someone who is willing to have a dog pet and take care of them. I also help him take care of the rescue dogs whenever I have free time. Sometime I give donation and ask my coworkers to share something for the dogs in needs on my friend rescue shelter. It's a great feeling when you are doing something good not just for humans but for animals too.
I do , specially when I saw a hopeless dog walking down the street or looking for a food. I love to feed them because it gives me joy eveytime I feed a dog. I'm actually searching a dog in the street to feed them and give their shelter. Dogs in the street are so hopeless and needed care or food . Even I got so little money, I spend it to help that kind of dogs .
I've seen people do this. It's nice since they don't have anyone to take care of them. I just find it a bit difficult once they get attached.
We don't really have stray dogs where I live. I stayed in a country that had a stray problem for a little while and I did feed them, which resulted in them following me all around the town and the townspeople got angry at me for feeding them, because they viewed them as pests. It was pretty depressing.
That's sad. But there are risks to them being somewhat aggressive. Some stray dogs can attack people. They're not as used to having people that close to them.
I think you probably heard about this but in my country, there are a lot of stray dogs on the streets and I am so sorry for them. Evry time I have spare food from our table I keep it and I go on the street to feed the dogs I meet.
Two years ago I have adopted a dog from the street, he was very small, and now he is a powerful male dog that watches for the security of our home!
Wow! That's inspiring. It's the sad reality for most stray dogs. But I'm a bit hesitant to touch other dogs since they're kind of temperamental. Trust is something that you have to earn from dogs.
You have a big heart and your family too. I'm also doing the same whenever I see a stray dog. I have a hobby before of adopting stray dogs and bringing them all in our house. I stop it now because I'm already in the university. I can't take care of them anymore. Instead I'm bringing them in the Dog Welfare organization in our place.
Where I live, stray dogs aren't really something that you see often so it's never something I've had to consider. I don't know what I'd do if I had to see dogs without homes regularly - it'd be hard because I feel like I'd want to take them all in and give them homes!
One of my dogs was a strayed dog which I adopted. I always tell people to be kind to animals that doesn't cause us any harm and dogs are on top of that list. I would feed any strayed dog anywhere I see it.
It's always very painful seeing so many dogs that are homeless. If I can take all of them in and take very good care of them, I will do it in a heartbeat. I always feed strayed dogs whenever they come around my house.
Yes, I feed dogs that are on the streets and homeless in my neighborhood and I also do the same thing with people who are poor and begging on the streets because when I have something I always like to help others that are in need.
I see strayed dogs the same way I see those who beg on the road and homeless people. I don't look down on them at all and always do everything in my power to support them. It can be food, money or clothes. They need all the help they can get.
If I see a dog that is genuinely homeless it would seem and it in a bad shape I would always contact the appropriate authorities to alert them and if I am able to I would feed them whilst they were waiting to be picked up. It's not very often we see stray dogs where I live, it's more cats but the same would apply to any animal if I am honest. I would always feed any animal that needed it.
