I've had many shelties in the past, and my last one passed away last year. 🙁
I was wondering, do any of you own or know of someone who owns a sheltie? If so, what are your thoughts on them? (P.S. you should post photos!)
I also love Shelties, and I believe that they are one of the smartest little dogs that you can have. When I was little, my parents had a beautiful Collie, so I learned to love that breed of dogs from the time I was a small child.
Eventually, I had a mid-size Sheltie after I was grown and married, and she was a great farm dog, and was very loyal to my children.
She would alert us if one of the horses was getting out of the pasture, so we could stop it before it escaped, and she went everywhere that my kids and I went.
Shelties are a little more hyper than a full-size Collie; but they make a great companion dog for just about anyone.
