Dogs Training Tips

I have to tell you that I am not bashful about admitting that I thoroughly love dogs. Over the years I have trained several pure and mixed breeds for companionship, obedience, tracking and some rescue work. I am now too old to physically get involved in the training but I can certainly help you, by providing you with good sound dog training information that works.

As you can tell I’m not a very bright guy but I assure you the dogs training info that I provide will be invaluable and free too. Free is good, right!! In addition to the info I will be providing a monthly newsletter whereby we get right into the nitty gritty of dog training. This may not be for the lighthearted because when a dog gets vicious and resentful about his training I will tell you straight up what you need to do. People can get hurt if action isn’t taken. You may be turned off by my recommended approach but better safe than sorry.

What I often find though is that dog owners don’t really “know” their dog. Your dog knows more about your habits than you know about yourself. An example of this is my yellow lab. “Beau” would see me put my fire Department uniform on and he would roll over and go back to sleep. As soon as I put the blue jeans on he knew that he would be spending the day with me and wouldn’t let me out of his site.

I look at some of these dogs training sites and I know these people have never trained a dog in their life. Yesterday, I thought I had seen and heard it all. Do you realize you can actually buy a dog online? Give me a break!! Imagine someone selecting a dog and sending it to you.

One of the best Dog Training Books that I have found so far is by a guy called Daniel Stevens. The book is called “Secrets to Dog Training”.

As a trainer I am always looking for creative ways to get a dog to learn a lesson as not all dogs (like people) grasp information the same way. This book shows quite a few different techniques. This is a book not only for the new dog handler but to a seasoned trainer as well.

On the whole most dog breeds want to please. When making your dog selection ask yourself is this breed right for you and your family. There are breeds that do not like to be last in the family pecking order. What do you expect your dog to be like? Obedient  right? A dog’s lifespan is say around 16 years. Are you prepared to go the full 10 yards? I look forward to helping you solve your dog’s training issues.
