If your yard isn't fenced, do you use a tie out? How long is the cord?

We bought a tie out for our daughter's dog for when she visits. We rarely use it though because she prefers to wander by leash all over the yard.

Fortunately my house yard is fenced. Although some folks around doesn't have fence. Some use bamboo sticks to make a fence and have it painted. It looks good to be very honest.

Luckily my yard is fenced and when my Grandma had her dog she also had a fenced garden as well so there was never any need for a tie-out for the dog as they could wander the yard without any issues of getting out. I remember when I was living in another house, we had neighbors who had a dog and we didn't have a fence between our two yards but more of a small wall so the dog was able to jump the wall when they let him out. They ended up getting a tie out for the dog and made it the length so that he could run up and down the yard and had plenty of lengths to run but couldn't get over the wall anymore. Eventually, they had a fence fitted and could stop using the tie-out.
