Let's share some interesting fun facts about dogs in this thread:
- It is a myth that dogs are color blind. They can actually see in color, just not as vividly as humans. It is akin to our vision at dusk.
- If never spayed or neutered, a female dog, her mate, and their puppies could produce over 66,000 dogs in 6 years!
That's pretty awesome mate!
Will be a cool read for people who don't know this/don't know much about dogs.
I didn't know the second one, 66000 is loads! Good job I get my dogs fixed!
Wow.. 66,000 dogs in 6 years, that is 11,000 puppies in a year!!! That can't be true or is it if the male has many many many partners 🙂
In my own experiences, I believe:
-Dogs have feelings
-Dogs' instinct can tell good and bad straight away
-Dogs are loyal and faithful
-Dogs love you unconditionally
These are my personal facts!
- Dogs’ only sweat glands are between their paw pads.
- A one year old dog is as mature, physically, as a 15 year old human.
- Greyhounds are the fastest dogs on earth, with speeds of up to 45 miles per hour.
Wow, 66000?! That's a lot. This is a nice thread for those who do not a lot about dogs. I hope it keeps updated.
Holy crap, 66,000 puppies. I can't even.
Indeed, dogs aren't colorblind. Dogs also have a 250 degree field of vision, compared to a human 190 degree field of vision, meaning they can see a lot more than we can. Squirrel! However, humans can focus on things better because our eyes are closer together than a dogs (binocular effect).
Labradors have some of the best visual acuity of any dog breed. In fact, many Labradors see close to 20:20 vision.

Wow, 66,000 dogs in 6 years? That's a really impressive figure to have a dog produce in such short period. One fact that I know about dogs is that as long as you ensure that they are happy in your home, they are definitely going to make you a happy dog owner. I enjoy it when my dog climbs my bed to lay on my feet.
your dog may contain around 125 to 300 million scent glands depending on their breed this is far greater than humans have. I also read in some articles that the part of the brain's dog that controls the sense of smell is 40 time much larger than an average human.
Really?? I knew even the vets are saying that they are colorblind. So thanks for your info. Since you posted a trivia, make it a habit to sesrch a lot more to share it to us. 🙂
