The AKC 38th Annual Family Dog Photo Contest just started April 15, 2016, but the deadline for entries is postmarked by Jan 31, 2017. First place is $500. Second place is $250. Third place is $150. Rules for the contest can be found here: http://www.akc.org/pubs/family-dog/photo-contest/rules/ . I like this contest best because it does not depend on user votes, but the AKC votes on the photos themselves. Good luck!
