What food do you avoid giving to your dog?

Dogs will eat almost anything given the chance but there is always the chance that the food is either not good for the dog or it is not recommended they have too much of it.

What foods do you find you tend to avoid giving to your dog?

How big do you usually go whenever you're buying your dog food? Do you go heavy with restocking or light?

Are their any kind of your dog food which is better to purchase in a larger quantity and some that are best bought in smaller quantities?

Where do buy your puppies cage?

My dog will give birth in 2 or 3 days time. I'm looking for the best place to buy a cage that can house at least 3 puppies at once and give them much room to relax. I have checked Amazon but didn't see what I wanted on it.

Any other suggestions?

Muzzles for dogs

I quite often see dog owners walking their dogs and in some cases, many of them that I see will have a muzzle on their dog which allows them to breathe but prevents them from biting other people or even harming other dogs they see out on their walk. I have always been happy that there are muzzles for dogs as some dogs can get quite excited and can sometimes not realize that they are hurting someone no matter how the owner tries to get them to realize, also when it comes to seeing other dogs, even though someone may be trying to teach and train their dog not to attack other dogs, it can sometimes happen so having a muzzle will protect any other dogs your dog may see.

Have you ever needed to use a muzzle on any of your dogs before? What was your reason for using the muzzle?

Dog House

It's not too often I see them anymore where I live but I remember when I was a kid I would see a lot of people who owned dogs and they would have a dog house in their garden for their dogs. It was mainly used for dogs that much preferred to spend more time outside rather than inside so that they had a place to go if the weather turned whilst they were outside but wanted to stay outside.

Do you have a dog house for your dog? How often does your dog use it?

Invisible Fence Collar

My neighbors have what's called an Invisible Fence. I'm not sure of the official name for it, but it works wirelessly with a collar so that the dog doesn't go beyond the invisible fence line.

It works to some degree, but my neighbor thought the dog was trained enough and went to change the battery from the collar and let him out. And he took off! Luckily he came down to my yard!

Tie Outs

If your yard isn't fenced, do you use a tie out? How long is the cord?

We bought a tie out for our daughter's dog for when she visits. We rarely use it though because she prefers to wander by leash all over the yard.

Yak Chews?

Do you give your dogs yak chews? They're made with yak milk and other ingredients.

They're really expensive, but they last a long time. At least the ones I've bought for my daughter's bulldog. The X-Large yak chew from the feed store costs $20 and will last her a week. She doesn't come over all the time, so it's a nice gift to give to her.

What is the best type of dogbed for your breed of dog?

My daughter has a bulldog and the bed is a fluffy nest type of bed that my daughter got online. It's the type of bed that if I lived alone I'd want one for myself! It didn't do so great in the dryer though so I'm wondering how it's supposed to be dried since air drying would cause mold?

Cheap or Branded Dog Food?

Do you buy the most expensive of dog brands or try to cut costs a little? I tend to go for supermarket brands, so mid-range. I sometimes feel guilty for not buying the best stuff. It's all the same though, isn't it?
